With less than 15 surviving worldwide and less in running order , you are unlikely to meet another at the local Vscc pub meeting ! Owned and restored by a fastidious and skilled engineer and machinist , the 153 has undergone a chassis up restoration to exacting standards since its discovery in France, some years ago. The chassis was stripped upon arrival, blasted , primed and painted, with the road springs re-built by Jones springs. The 2.6L 4cylinder engine has been rebuilt, with new liners, pistons, white metal bearings , with freeze cracks welded expertly by Slindon Welding , valves reground and new valve seats fitted , these works were carried out by the renowned Serdi Engineering . The ultra rare Peugeot Dynamo and Magneto have been fully rebuilt, by Magneto guys in East Sussex. The owner has stripped and rebuilt the gearbox , carefully cleaning and inspecting all gears and fitting new bearings throughout. The front and rear axles have received similar attention , with the rear axle receiving total overhaul with new brake linings and bearings , the Un-braked front axle was stripped and has new kingpins and bushes . The five artillery wheels have been completely rebuilt and are fitted with the correct beaded edge tyres. The decision was then made to create a body, very much in the style of the Edwardian coach-builders , the owner turned to the respected vintage specialist Oliver Way , who has created a delightful design which utilises the original radiator and bulkhead , constructed over an ash frame with aluminium panel work and a beautiful copper tank to the rear, with Oliver’s typical eye for detail the outcome is a triumph. The bodywork has then been coach painted with the interior trim sensitively trimmed in aged brown leather by vintage trim expert Gail Hodgson , who has also made the beautiful roof and hood bag. The owner has completely rewired the car using period cloth wire and the dashboard features some more of his machining skills to the fore . The finished car really is a tribute to the skills of the owner and the various vintage experts who have helped bring this rare and desirable Peugeot back to life . Only offered for sale due to the owners desire to continue another project , this very fine Edwardian Peugeot will no doubt provide rewarding motoring for its new owner .
