Jaguar Daimler Coupe XJC power hood convertible Maroon 4.2 auto Built by Paul Banham Conversions in the late 80’s

This gorgeous car is one of two XJC cars ever converted by Paul Banham conversions from Kent U.K. The company also did other conversions on the Ferrari 400, Aston Martin V8’s and XJ 4 doors. This lovely looking and rare two door coupe was only in production for a few years 1975-77/8
The car was converted in the late 80’s for a London based client who used it at his Spanish home, where it stayed until I purchased it from the gentleman’s deceased estate in 2015.This is the reason for not having an mot history. The car has had a total four previous owners and the last owner purchased it in 1985. It had been in dry store for many years in Spain causing the leather inside to dry and be beyond repair. Since then the car has undergone a substantial amount of work. I have uploaded videos of the underside, a walk round and the power hood in operation. See video youtube Jaguar Daimler XJC coupe convertible AMB956S
The hood conversion is too Jaguar factory standard, I owned a 1992 XJS convertible which looks so similar apart from the glass rear screen. Fully lined inside, with the same windscreen/roof fixing. The hydraulic system is also a quick easy open and close, reliable, smooth and truly weatherproof and a tailored hood bag to finish it off.
Body; new outer sills, tank covers, a bare metal re paint in the pearlescent maroon, which is an old Jaguar colour.                     Interior, seats trimmed in biscuit leather and the everything else restored, including the wooden dashboard and dials. New replacement front and rear screens, along with freshly waterproofed hood, has made the roof ready for all weathers. Axels front and back have been rebuilt along with new brake pipes, fuel line, fuel pumps and sender units. Tanks removed and fully checked and cleaned.      Engine and drive train; Good oil pressure, new water pump, fully serviced engine with rebuilt AED unit, gear box new filer and oil, renewed differential oil.
Overall, the car is as rare as hens’ teeth, a great looking and very usable classic. The other convertible XJC’s do not have such a well-built power hood and when driving it you’re unlikely to see the other.
It is available for sale €68,000/£59,000 Willing to shipping
