1979 Moto Guzzi 992 cc Round Barrel Cafe Racer Special For SaleNo expense was spared building this bike, which was used for hill climbing, sprinting and fast road use between 1995 and 2005. For sale now as I've got too many bikes and I hardly ride this one any more. The chassis is mostly ex-Chris Clark BOTT parts- Astralite wheels, GSXR forks, Harris yokes, Gold line brake discs and unique parallelogram rear suspension with floating drive box. The engine has a Wiseco 992cc kit with a machined squish band for 11.7: 1 compression, twin plug straight inlet 44/37 Mez porting heads using Raceco valves, racing value springs, titanium collars and cromo push rods opened by an SS2 cam and timing gears. Down below is a balanced crank, Carrillo con rods and enlarged oil pump pick-up oil ways in both crank case and sump which has a factory deep sump spacer. Fuel is supplied by 40mm Del Orto's with machined alloy bellmouths. Ignition is by Denso iridium plugs triggered by an experimental Lucas Rita box supplied by Mistral Engineering, suitable for twin plug operation. Exhaust is via LM1 PR down pipes and a beautiful set of eggshell thin splayed megaphones used with baffles on the street. They look very similar to the 70's Bruno Scola endurance racing pipes, but I can't be sure. Rev counter is a Krober. Power goes through a lightened steel clutch with heavy duty springs to a close ratio straight cut gearbox, again ex-Chris Clark BOTT. Engine starting is by a Valeo starter motor and gel battery. Seating is provided by a special one off, one piece 900 SS derived seat unit, which sits over the frame and not on it, as with most other examples. This has a gel seat cushion upholstered by 'Bob The Seat'. Standard LM1 tank and replica 900ss faring finish the bodywork. In the last two years the bike has been recommissioned for sale with: Two Avon road rider tyres Gear box strip and inspection with new bearing and seals New Stein Dinse clutch plates Top end strip and inspection with: New big end shells New spark plugs New piston rings Just run in and now running, as always, on synthetic oil. Also included as spares are a brand new set of 300mm Brembo gold line floating discs and used spacers, a set of used LM 1/2 production racing megaphones and a used ex Jim Blomley super light 2 into 1 racing megaphone. I have not detailed every aspect of the bike if you have any questions please ask. This advert has now been removed through sale or otherwise, please see the list below for similar live adverts |
