Lack of garage space forces the sale of my Bond Equipe. This is the desirable Mk 2 version with the improved suspension tweaks, etc
A fantastic old car, great fun to drive with a rapturous 6 cylinder soundtrack - my Son & I will be heartbroken to see her go!
This is a great starter car for the classic car scene - cheap insurance, MOT & road tax exempt, easy to work on & with little money now needing spending on her, she's potentially, a stress free & distinctive ride!
One of only 20 Mk 2's registered in the UK - of which only 9 are on the road, makes this a rare sight indeed & she's guaranteed an audience wherever she goes so not for the shy or retiring!
Well presented in pillar box red with the glorious 6 cylinder Triumph engine this car has always been garaged & is much loved. Built on a Vitesse chassis with a fibreglass body (excepting the doors) the door sills have been comprehensively refurbished & are free of the dreaded rust (common problem!) The car recently had paint so I'd say the body / paintwork is good but with minor crazing & blemishes - commensurate with a fibreglass body & her age!
Interior is good - needs a little work to make perfect but looks fab in all black!!
Much work undertaken & money spent within my ownership - new starter motor, new roto flex couplings, new track rod ends, I had the fuel tank removed & cleaned out, a new fuel line & pump, new o rings to the main jets, brake discs & rear cylinders cleaned, replaced front wheel studs, rewired the electric fan (for sitting in traffic!) & rewired the lights too.
I've cleaned up the engine bay over winter & am pleased with the result & I had fitted a good quality battery - so she starts on the button (unlike other classics previously owned!) This is probably the most reliable classic I've had in fact.
This car is a real head turner & generates a lot of interest, probably because of the lovely purr of her engine but also the body styling, which, as you may know was done in collaboration with Trevor Fiore - of the fabled TVR Trident project & indeed there are a few styling cues here equally shared by both these cars...
Altogether, a very affordable & rare car - priced to sell as I have a new car coming soon. Please do come & view, you won't be disappointed!!
Rare Bond equipe based on mk2 Triumph Vitesse running gear.2.0 straight six with manual overdrive gearbox.
Good solid chassis, Good bodywork mainly fibreglass panels. Very light car with good performance......
I bought this as an abandoned restoration project 2 years ago, it returned home in boxes of bits many missing (as I found out) some parts in good order, some not so. I have slowly worked through assembling.....
Bond bug 850 cc. 1972
Bought last spring, the bug was in running order but tired and neglected. The saving grace was that it had a recent new chassis and was fitted with a sweet running ,later 850cc.....
