Stunningly and sympathetically restored 1968 Porsche 912 in Tangerine (6809) - as shown on the CoA. 4 speed, 5 dial, 1 year only model. The car was treated to a bare metal respray in July 2016 by ARL coachworks (who undertake Miura work for famed Colin Clark) and has been lovingly covered, garaged and only used on dry sunny days.
Full engine and running gear rebuild by master engineer Andy Prill while at Maxted Page & Prill in 2012,(mileage 30747m) and only serviced since by Prill Porsche classics.
Fully restored seats, rear shelf, rear arch cover panel by Porsche Fx in 2019 using correct black Porsche vinyl. Restored dials by Julian Reap of Reap Automotive. New headlining during exacting build up by Gary Cook of GCC automotive. Only original Porsche parts used where needed and precise attention to detail.
The car won the people choice award at Hedlingham Castle / remains the 1968 feature car on the 912 registry, and was the cover star of Classic Porsche magazine - all of which were prior to its loving restoration.
Following restoration the car was chosen to enter the prestigious St John’s Wood Classic in June 2017 in London.
The car was first registered in Culver city, California on 28.2.68, and was shipped to Holland in March 1997 where is was looked after by Erpa Porsche. It was bought by the previous owner in November 2009 who often used it for Goodwood Track days with sports seats installed - after which I acquired the vehicle via Andy Prill’s recommendation in early 2015 (mileage then 43000 miles) after which the body and interior restoration commenced - receipts for all work carried out are available and are in excess of the price stated.
The car has covered only 3700 miles in the past 6 years, drives beautifully and attracts admiring looks and comments whereever it is. Original wood steering wheel, perfect working refurbished blaupunkt Essen stereo / iPhone compatible. New perfect aluminium dash trim. New period correct tyres fitted 1000 miles ago. New battery. Stunning chrome all round. Solid original floor noted by Andy Prill in excellent / original condition. Original fog lights and chrome vented wheels as per Coa. New eu certified rear seat belts fitted. If I was being extra critical I would update the carpet but only to complement he rest of the car - but i quite like it’s patina as is. Full photographic and document file detailing all works carried out.
