For sale is my lovely Standard 10. Never fails to attract admirers. Its an early 1955 car and is in excellent condition. The previous owner had it professionally restored ten years ago but it was only used briefly before being dry stored. I have thoroughly gone over the entire car and it is now in perfect running order, needing nothing at all. Simply drive away and enjoy!
Bodywork: rust free throughout, including the underside. It was professionally painted in beige 2-pack paint inside and out including the floors and boot. This has lasted well with only tiny blemishes. Chrome is very good and has been re-plated where needed.
Interior: new red carpets, new door trim in cream and red. Seats are original. The dashboard still has the original dealer’s transfer label on it. A clock and electric screen washer have been added in the past and a white steering wheel. All controls and switches work perfectly including an efficient heater. Original rubber boot mat.
Engine: rebuilt original, starts easily and does not miss a beat. It does not leak a drop of oil – amazing for a car of this age! 51000 miles which I believe to be genuine considering the car’s condition. Ancillaries such as the dynamo, brass radiator, carburettor etc. are original, stamped 1955 in many cases and in excellent condition. New battery (12V).
Brakes and clutch rebuilt and any wearing parts replaced. Stops straight and true. Gearbox changes well and the gear selector has been rebushed.
Electrics: full working order. Mostly original including the cotton braided wiring. The headlights are new and have stainless steel bezels.
Suspension and steering components have been adjusted and lubricated throughout.
Original tools including jack, starting handle (as well as the electric start!), wheel brace and hub cap remover.
Tyres have lots of tread and the spare is unused.
Parts and insurance are very cheap. Its an easy car to maintain and is tax and Mot exempt of course. Very reluctant sale.
Car is located in SE Wales with easy access from the M4 motorway.
Lovely Standard saloon, restored to a high standard by a retired engineer over the last 3 years. Engine rebuilt, bare metal respray (photographic record of work), new headlining. Recent electrical.....
Good, mostly original condition, although it does have a few minor dings and scrapes the body work is sound and free from rust or DIY bodges. This is one of those cars that has obviously been well.....
