For sale is my trusty 1954 ( 66 years old !) grey Ferguson TEF ( Diesel) complete with rear mounted pallet loader (forklift) and front mounted (MIL?) loader. OTF (off the farm) condition but perfectly useable as it is or ripe for renovation. Located near Loughborough (LE12 8JF) I’ve had it for nigh on 20 years and the only trouble was a fuel blockage which has not happened again since I cleaned the tank out. Road registered with V5 in my name.Nice 6 digit reg. non-transferable Viewing preferred and welcome .

This is my honest assessment gained over twenty years of use !Engine, transmission, hydraulics, brakes, steering all work, as do the forklift and the front loader. They "droop" if left overnight. The front loader rams have seen better days but they work O.K. The hydraulic valve block with the control levers is shared between the two gadgets and so you have to change the hoses over which is a bit of a chore. You have to remember it's 66 years old though. Technology has moved on.There are no coolant leaks or overheating problems. The dynamo is not connected and so I just charge the battery from an external charger and it lasts for ages with a good battery. The battery ( 1 x 12volt) is only used for starting. There are no other electrics to worry about. The "instruments" - ammeter and oil pressure guage don't work. Front tyres are reasonably good though one loses pressure over a period of weeks.Rear tyres are worn and cracked but hold air and have never given trouble. The starter pinion sometimes does not engage with the ring gear properly. I suspect it's worn but there is a knack with the gear lever which is used to move the pinion into mesh and it has never failed to start on me.It requires a quick squirt of easy start from cold but then there was a system called "Ki-gas" or some such on these as original which I think was probably similar.I have the parts for that though they are not fitted. If the tractor is parked on a side slope oil leaks from the low side half shaft seal. There are various seepages from the rams and couplings.Sheet metal parts are all good but for a dent in the front grille caused by lifting the bonnet onto the loader I think. The silencer flaps about a bit.If you are still interested you are welcome to come and view.
