Here we have a stunning example of the classic BMW sports car from the late 60’s/ 70’s. I’m not in a real rush to sell this one, just testing the waters at the moment.
Under the hood you will find the original M10 motor and dual Webber DCOE 40’s that have been professionally tuned. The car has the standard 4 speed transmission that came with it. The car really does feel like a little go kart on the country roads, especially with the Koni sports shocks and Eibach springs all round.
I have recently fitted a set of 14’’ Alpina wheels to match the Alpina inspired paint job that was carried out by a BMW dealership some years ago. You will find all this information the extensive amount of history I have for this car.
The body work is in great shape, there is a small dent on the bonnet however this can easily be filled in and painted. The roof has a few small dents that can be seen in certain light. Underneath the car is rusty free apart from a very small spot of surface rust towards the rear of the car. (I will get a photo of that for you when I next get the car up on the ramp)
I had some work recently carried out at Walkers Auto Tech BMW specialists and they were amazed at the condition and overall strength of the chassis. If you were to give them a call I’m sure they would put in a good word about the car (it was the first 2002 that they had seen in their shop for a while and they would remember the paint job for sure)
The car was recently fitted with a new uprated cooling radiator from Jaymic and the temp gauge sits perfectly just under half way.
Inside the car are two black leather racaro seats and harness belts. Along with a period correct raid steering wheel. In the back of the car is a roll cage and basic seat delete. I do still have the rear seat so if you wanted to you could go back to a nice stock interior.
This is a 1971 BMW 2002 with 52,851 original kms. It was manufactured during March of 1971 and delivered to Switzerland where it spent most of it's life. A numbers matching body, engine and transmission.....
