1982 Range Rover Classic 'In Vogue' Ltd Edition For Sale
1982 Range Rover 'In Vogue' Limited Edition 4 door Nevada Gold Original 3.5 V8 engine 3 speed automatic gearbox Rare surviving example of this highly collectable ltd edition model The 'In Vogues' were the first serious steps by Land Rover to take the Range Rover up-market following up on the success of the loan of a prototype to Vogue magazine for a fashion shoot. The first series were based on the '2 door' model. This example is from the second series which were based on the '4 door' model and all finished in either Nevada Gold or Sierra Silver. These were the first factory Range Rovers to have automatic transmission. Specification included air conditioning, high compression engine, three spoke alloys, polished wood door cappings, wool carpets, storage box between front seats, head and arm restraints, map pockets on the backs of the front seats and a carpeted load area. Sold new into the UK, this example was exported to South Africa in the late 80's where it remained until I re-imported it back from Gauteng Province to the UK last year, hence it has survived in excellent condition whereas most of the UK examples will have long since disappeared. It appears to have led a relatively sheltered life in South Africa with an indicated mileage of just 58,900 km since it arrived there where upon the UK mph speedometer was swapped out for metric km. However, overall mileage will be higher than this to take account of formative years spent in the UK, hence cannot be verified. It has been recently serviced by an independent Land Rover specialist, MOT'd and UK registered and has been reliable in local use since. The Nevada Gold paintwork is in excellent condition. Undersides are generally in a pretty solid and sound condition with minor corrosion to a couple of areas mentioned as advisories on the MOT, nothing serious enough to merit a fail and easy/inexpensive enough to tidy if wanting to make perfect. The interior is generally very good for the age of the vehicle although both front seat squabs have covers. The passenger seat is in excellent original condition but the drivers seat has a couple of rips and tears hence the cover. Mechanically the car start first time and runs and drives very well indeed for a classic Range Rover with the automatic gearbox shifting well and making for easy progress. Original sales specification sheet and handbook is present. Overall, a very nice and useable example of this rare and collectable 'In Vogue' model, ready to drive away.
