Beautiful TR3A 1960 Home market car
Complete nut and bolt rebuild and near mint condition. Chassis Blasted and powder coated. Some extra stiffening as per the TR books was welded in.
The chassis was also made ready for the conversion to Rack and Pinion steering gear.
Suspension Springs cleaned greased and wrapped in Drevo Tape.
Rear shockers rebushed and uprated 25% Front suspension rebuilt with polyurethane where possible the top arms were altered to give a negative camber Anti roll bar kit to front suspension.
Steering Conversion to rack and pinion using a TR7 quick rack from Revington
The block was a early TR2 so changed to a TR4 New pistons and liners up rating the engine to 2138cc Crank reground inc oil seal conversation. New shell bearings to mains and big ends Flywheel lightened New exhaust valves all new valve guides springs etc New rocker shaft New timing chain and tensioner New big end bolts New camshaft (fast road) and new followers Spin on oil filter housing Electronic ignition and new Lucas sports coil Carbs sent off for fettling Head was gas flowed and cleaned up New extractor 4 branch stainless steel exhaust manifold Solid alloy rocker cover chrome fixings Fuel pump diaphragm Transmission Later reconditioned TR4 box and overdrive giving syncro on all gears.
With the increase in engine size this is the equivalent of a TR3B specification.
New clutch cover, driven plate bearing etc and release mech up rated as per TR club.
Both prop shaft and back axel were found to be in good order cleaned painted etc.
New radiator Electric fan and thermostat
Lots of work completed before my purchase and very many new Stanpart original panels were fitted The welding completed the body was dipped and phosphated then given 2 coats of Rust Bullet before primer undercoat and finished in Alfa Romeo Red 2 pack
Cavity wax has treated box sections
New windscreen in rechromed frame
New rear bumpers
New fog light ( to rear as reversing lamp as per period)
New door and boot handles
Front grill powder coated chrome
Front calliper restored.
New servo Brake lines new
New rear linings
Alternator conversion with new bearings and narrow belt pulleys etc.
Loom repaired new wires as required and recovered.
A large fuse box and relay unit to complement the rewire Replacement tripod period headlights Reversing fog light (as per period) wired to reverse switch in gearbox with manual switch override A large relay acts as a battery switch and is operated by remote hidden switch
Overdrive has an electronic override to operate the overdrive and prevent reengagement of gear.
Trim Seat frames refurbished and trimmed in leather with red piping as per originals Leather to doors and other trim.
New Mohair hood
New tonneau New hood cover wool carpets Side screens Wheels
New 72 spoke wheels (4off) slightly wider than original. Original fitment was 48 or 60 5 new Verdestine tyres.
According to the British Motor Industry Trust Heritage Certificate, this beautiful and quite rare 'Small Mouth' Triumph TR3 - Chassis No: TS/10061-L and Engine No: TS10424E is a 'Matching Numbers'.....
