My old trusty Dyane is ready for it’s next keeper after a fun year with me.
I bought my Dyane after being inspired by Hubnut’s videos on YouTube where he travelled Europe in his 2CV. I’ve always wanted either a 2CV or a Dyane and those videos nudged me into searching for the right car for me.
I settled on “Harvey” after looking at a few different cars because it was just what I was after, a fairly solid car that had been used regularly but wasn’t immaculate so I wouldn’t feel bad about using it regularly. The previous owner had travelled all around Europe in it so I was confident that the car fitted the bill.
Harvey, like most of these car has seen the business end of a welder on numerous occasions through its life but there is nice and solid at the moment. The car was originally red but is now a combination of Black and Red which suits it very well. The paintwork isn’t perfect, there’s the odd bit of corrosion etc but it does look good. There’s a crease in the drivers door where the wind took it and the rear bumper has a little kink in it.
The interior is nice with red carpets and biscuit seats in good condition. There are 12v power points fitted so that you can plug in your phone or sat nav. Everything seems to work.
It drives and stops really well, Starts first time whether hot or cold. The valve clearances are set generously for modern fuel so are a bit tappy but it runs great.
There are plenty of receipts for work done over the years and it’s just a nice useable car that brightens up yours and everyone else’s day. I am only selling as I have six cars and I really need to reduce it to two.
