It was the development car from the TS250 powered by the Ford V6. The TS500 has a 5 Litre V8 engine developed by Javlin from the Rover V8, producing 320 bhp, weighing in at just over one ton it is capable of 0-60 in around 4 seconds with a top speed of 160mph.
Being the works development car, the chassis was developed from the Le man’s LM500/ 600 cars for road use, it shares many similar characteristics in design to the later Marcos TSO, as it must have been used in development for the TSO, which was featured on top gear around 2006. The TSO was later built at the Protune site between 2004-2007, now owned by Jaguar Land Rover, in Warwickshire.
This car has featured in the Marcos sales brochure, and was used at its launch at Canary Warf and Goodwood Festival of speed in 2004. It was also used as the press car for the motoring magazines at the same time.
There is an exciting write up about the car being driven hard in wet conditions, by the well-known journalist Graham Bell in which he got the car up to 150 mph in fourth gear, running out of track he did not find its full potential.
The photos do not do this car justice, sparkling metallic silver paint work is in A1 condition tided by Colour flash in Birmingham, it looks fantastic sparkling in the sun or under street lighting.
The car is great to drive, having previously owned TVRs, Lotus, and Ferrari's, this super car would have been a great alternative competitor. Mild and easy to drive at low revs, with a roaring bellowing noise on heavy acceleration spitting and back firing on deceleration it becomes a real demon when driven hard.
Five speed gear box and limited slip differential, along with adjustable suspension and low-profile new tyres, keeps this car firmly on the road.

The car has covered just under 16000 miles from new with all its MOT certificates, verified by DVLA. Including a comprehensive and detailed service history after it left Marcos ownership. It comes complete with the engine specification sheet and a current MOT to 2021.
