Immaculate, low mileage and very original CB750 K1.

UK supplied and first registered 1st July 1971. There is a blue dealer sticker on the oil tank cover ‘ supplied by D.C. Butler of Stanstead Abbots, Herts‘ . I haven’t been able to confirm this but the earliest MOT held (1988) is from the Herts area.

The mileage of just 14,831 is believed genuine and is supported by an MOT history dating back to April 1988 . There are some gaps between MOT’s (likely SORN periods), but the recorded mileage tracks nicely through. A mileage of 7,579 is recorded on the MOT of 15 April 1988 through to 14,831 shown today.

I acquired the Honda in 2011 in the same fabulous condition as it is now. The seller was a garage owner and race preparer who I knew well. He had owned the bike twice in its history as personal transport and he knew a number of the other previous owners (the V5C records 7 former keepers). He was very clear that the recorded mileage is genuine.

I have a small collection of classic cars but could not resist the CB 750 for its great Candy Gold looks and glorious sound. I had ideas of taking my motorcycle test and embarking on grand tours but sadly too many commitments have gotten in the way.

I have kept the bike spotlessly clean, polished, dry stored and frequently run up to temperature. Always a good starter and firing smoothly on all four. Despite barely any use I had a major service undertaken in March 2016, at the same time having an MOT. That was done at 14,831 miles, the same as the mileage reading today.

Importantly this bike is neither an import nor a ground up restoration project using mainly new parts. As a collectible asset it is just as you want them, and just as the market likes. It is original UK supplied and has been worked on over the years to preserve both its mechanicals and its lovely appearance; it shows a subtle patina of age that a soon to be 50 year old bike should have.

It is of course matching numbers, the stamped frame number still being visible through a re-coating of the frame. The rims have at some point been replaced with D.I.D Japan items. There are HM numbers aplenty all over the bike and an original Honda tool kit with HM embossed tools (sits next to the battery).

This is an investment quality bike but deserves to be out there being used, seen and enjoyed. For peace of mind she has now gone to a local garage for another oil change, mechanical check and a fresh MOT. She can be viewed there by prior appointment, with arrangements already in place for social distancing to be observed.

The price is where is should be for what this is, so no hopeful offers please. I can easily be persuaded to keep her!

I expect first to see will buy. I certainly did and never regretted it. It is a machine of great beauty.
