1988 Citroen CX 22 TRS Croisette in silver with manual gearbox, 2.2 litre petrol. 12 months MOT (2July 2021). Rare model, believed to be 1 of 3 Croisettes on the road.
I've owned the car for the past 2 years and made lots of memories with it. Throughout my ownership I've maintained and improved it to get it to where I want it to be.
Suspension works on all settings with no leaks. Brakes strong and DIRAVI steering all working.
Mostly clean underneath, some bits of surface corrosion could do with being cleaned up but longerons are all good which is the main thing. Bodywork all good with exception of some rust on leading edge of bonnet (not gotten worse since I've had it). Absolutely loads of history with the car including loads of receipts from new (inc. some from Portugal).
It's an old French car so naturally there are a few issues. The center clock doesn't work, there is a bit of corrosion in the nearside inner wheel arch (treated and applied wax but might need sorting before too long), the speedo doesn't work (steering still weights up with speed so suspect its the cable from the steering box to the binnacle that doesn't work. The instrument cluster has been changed in the past and the original is supplied with the car), abs light can come on if the car hasn't been used in a while.
Happy to answer any more questions/supply any more info/pictures if required.
The Citroën CX which was first introduced in 1974 inherited a difficult legacy from the beginning as it had to replace the DS/ID models. They had been in production for 20 years and were always successful......
