The engine was reconditioned at 80, 000 miles including head (new tappets), pistons, new crank and bearings and the cam belt was replaced at the same time (with receipt for £2500). The car now has 97, 000 miles on the clock, soit’s only done 17, 000 miles since the rebuild. The car sits on 30mm lowering springs (rides over speed humps without scraping) Powerflow stainless steel performance exhaust Calipers painted green to match lowering springs Excellent tyres all round (pair of virtually new Toyo Proxes on the rear) Carbon fibre slam panel Carbon fibre centre console insert Bonnet carbon fibre wrapped Two keys and two alarm fobs Clifford G5 GP1000T alarm Comes with a workshop manual on CD in English Folder full of receipts for work carried outV5 present Sony radio / CD / Sd Card reader with iphone / USB connections. I planned to use this car for the summer months. Finding agood maual Mivec wasn’t an easy task, so when this car
came up for sale I jumped at the opportunity. The car was located 140 miles away from me and due to work commitments I didn’t have the time to view the car before purchase, so I agreed a price over the phone and had the car collected by a local transport firm. When it arrived it was quickly apparent that it needed a lot more work than the seller had disclosed, however this was mainly mechanical and my plan was always to work on the car over the winter to prepare it for the following season so I wasn’t put off by this. I spent the colder months gathering parts and working on the car and by mid December felt the car was ready for an MOT, which it passed with the only advisory being slightly pitted rear disks. This didn’t surprise me because it has spent a while off the road, and I suspect that being driven for a while would cure this. It didn’t worry me because I knew from the depth of the brake pads that the brakes hadn’t had a lot of use since being replaced. The car has covered 97, 000 miles so as you would expect there are some stone chips and evidence of some paint repairs in the past, but the car cleans up very nicely. The interior is clean and in nice condition. The carpets are good. On close inspection there is some fading to the seat fabric, but I hadn’t realised this was the case until I removed the seats and saw them in direct sunlight. The drivers seat has a repair to the fabric on the outside bolster. The material was wearing thin so I removed the seat cover and adhered a piece of matching material to the inside of the seat cover with a fabric glue. It’s a good strong repair, but on inspection the repair is visible. I was happy with it, but the new owner might prefer to replace the seat cover. It’s an easy job to replace them, just take the seat out and they unzip.
I am selling the car because I would like it to find an owner that will use and enjoy it. I planned to take it to meets and shows instead of my Skyline because it’s too low to get over speed humps, but every opportunity I get it’s the Skyline I take out (I really should put the original springs back on it).
