Is there a better way to enjoy the beautiful British countryside than a trip out in a Moggy convertible? I doubt it, they provide an almost unique way of enjoying open top motoring.
Pootling along at a leisurely 50mph with very little buffeting to spoil your conversation, or hair! So British, so enjoyable, if you haven't tried one you should.
This super little Morris was restored to a very high standard some years ago and remains in excellent condition. Originally a saloon, it had a convertible conversion professionally carried out along with some useful discreet upgrades which make it more pleasurable to drive and enjoy. All the charm of a standard Moggy but just that bit more useable.
The recorded mileage of 41000 is believed to be genuine and there are old MOT certificates going back 34 years which seem to support it, as does the driving experience - she just doesn't feel old at all.
The body and underside are very good. The underside is very clean and tidy with a nice coat of waxoyl. No horrible patchwork of welding to be seen here, any repairs have been done neatly and professionally - it looks just as you would want one to. The topside is finished in a very attractive metallic blue which looks a bit like Trafalgar blue until the light catches it. All of the panels are steel and there is no corrosion or rust anywhere. The chrome is all good, body gaps all good, and the doors open, close and lock effortlessly. The black vinyl hood fits really well and folds back easily as you can see from the pictures. The doors have stainless window frames in excellent condition and nice little Lucas mirrors too.
There are one or two small paint blemishes - a crack in the paint on the front bumper valance and a small ding below the drivers door handle, not serious and barely noticeable.
The interior is typical Morris Minor - pale blue seats and trim with blue carpets, all in very good condition. The front seats have been cleverly modified to give full sliding adjustment which really helps if you are tall - or not! There are also inertia reel seat belts and extra interior lights. Oil and temperature gauges have been added along with a Moto Lita steering wheel.
She has always been well looked after by the current owner regardless of expense and there are plenty of invoices for recent maintenance and running repairs including a full brake overhaul earlier this year. On the road she hums along nicely with no noises from the engine, gearbox or rear axle. The suspension soaks up all the bumps without any fuss, and the brakes stop her reassuringly well thanks to the servo that has been fitted. Tyres are all good and matching.
It's no surprise that she starts on the button every time - Moggys always do!
The Morris is reluctantly for sale on behalf of the lady owner who is just not using her as much as she would like. And really there isn't much more to say, this is a brilliant little car and a rare opportunity to get a genuinely good one. If you are looking for trouble free classic car ownership then please come and view - you won't be disappointed. Any socially distanced inspection welcome from genuine buyers
