EQUIPMENT
Electric window front and rear, cigar lighter, twin fuel tanks, glove box with vanity mirror, interior courtesy light, radio/cassette, central locking, adjustable steering column, heated rear screen, wooden dashboard, third high-level brake light, full size spare wheel/tyre.

EXTERIOR
Signal red, showing no visible signs of corrosion, with magnificent chrome work front to back, all in tremendous condition.
Only the odd very minor blemish, as to be expected from any vehicle of this age, now 44 years old.

INTERIOR
The archetypal classic-retro environment, cinnamon leather, virtually un-marked, with a fawn headlining which appears taut and as new. Recently re-trimmed sun-visors.
The leather seats offer a high degree of both comfort and support. The Daimler offers a multitude of period 70’s style switch-gear, plus a slim and elegant steering wheel.

WHEELS & TYRES
Wheels have been recently powder-coated with five new Toyo Transpath A14 radials, so obviously plenty of tread remaining. All chrome hubcaps are faultless and display the prestigious Daimler centre insignia.

SERVICE HISTORY & PROVENANCE
A Classic car like no other, with a serious story to tell!
Unlike most cars of the era, that gently waft around the shires, this Sovereign was originally supplied to Amalgamated Dairies Ltd, in Auckland New Zealand, where it remained for 24 years, as the personal transport for their ageing Company Director, Graham Frederick Glaister. Being one of many cars he owned, the Daimler was used only sparingly until sold to its next owner for a further 10 years, a Mr. Wes Davies. He was the owner of Classic Driver Magazine in New Zealand.
Following a couple of mammoth and epic, classic road trips, the 4.2 LWB eventually arrived in London in 2014.
It shortly after, in 2015, received a complete engine re-build in the U.K. by Klassic & Sportscar Engineers in Maidstone, Kent. Electronic ignition was fitted at that time, plus a Waxoyl treatment courtesy of Percival Motor Company.

THE DRIVE & ENGINE
Delivering comfort and capable power, the Daimler Sovereign it enjoying something of a renaissance, as younger drivers realise how cool these grand old saloons cars can be.
For a relatively small investment, you have that prodigious XK DOHC, chain driven 4235cc straight six engine, the staple of Jaguars and Daimler for so many years to follow.
Three speed Borg-Warner transmission. Drives extremely well, covering the miles effortlessly.
Must be worthy of very serious consideration, for any aspiring classic motoring enthusiast.

We would highly recommend an early viewing to avoid disappointment.
