DEPOSIT TAKEN This one ticked all the boxes for me. Fitted with overdrive gearbox, sliding sun roof, wire wheels and rotoflex rear suspension. And fully restored both bodily and mechanically. There is a massive boxed history file with invoices in excuss of £6000 and the car has remained in Nottinghamshire since 1984 with just two previous owners, seven in total. There is a heritage certificate. The car has done 110,000 miles and was restored at around 85,000/90,000 miles in the early 1990's. Professional body restoration included full respray after fitting of numerous new body panels including full length floors both sides, bonnet front wings both sides, passenger side rear wing and front valence.
The engine was fully reconditioned, along with the fitting of a new gearbox, overdive unit and differential..
The interior had a new headlining and a Weathershield folding sunroof was fitted with matching material and new outer cover. The seats are the original basket weave and in very good condition.
Using the overdrive on a long run will give in excess of 200 miles on 6 gallons of fuel. No draft at speed with the roof open unlike most modern cars with sun roof..
If you know these cars then you will know with the rotoflex rear suspension the car feels 'planted' at the rear unlike the previous and later versions like the swing spring. New rotoflex couplings have been fitted.
New front brake discs and calipers, all pipework in copper..
New heavy duty front springs and Spax adjustable shock absorbers. The rear had a new road spring, bushes and shock absorbers.
The exhaust system is a new stainless steel one with twin oulets at the rear and is a little noisy but comes with the side exit system also in in stainless steel.
New front and rear chrome bumpers. Recent new tyres on all four wheels.
The car is not concours, priced to reflect the condition with very little needed to take to the next level. For this the central part of the bonnet needs to be repainted due to poor preparation which has resulted in some micro blistering and a crack in the paint on the buldge. The chrome wheels are very good but showing some corrosion.
Reluctantly for sale due to difficulty in getting in and out of the car because of ageing limbs. Much better value than a MGC and far more economical.
Two sets of keys.Tax and MOT exempt last MOT running to 25/05/2019.
No timewasters, dreamers or silly offers. Part exchange for a classic car that I can easily get in and out of considered.
