1956 MGA Roadster For Sale

A 1956, 1500cc MGA, in absolutely mint condition of fine detail and all ready to drive and enjoy. The mileage is approximately 2,500 since rebuild. Originally it was an American import where the chassis and main body was 85% rust free. Bought in 2011 it was totally taken apart and restored over 4 years taking great pains to do everything correctly and rebuild it to the original detail with several exceptions. A Ford 5 speed gearbox along with the Hi Speed bell housing modification and prop shaft was fitted and a brake servo. Seat belts and individual rear indicators were added to make turning safer. Hidden under the instrument panel is a twin 12 volt accessory socket and a battery isolator switch. Many new parts were fitted ie. Engine rebuild, water pump, distributor, fuel filter, wiring harness, head lamps, interior trim, hood, tonneau cover, brakes, splined hubs, wire wheels and 5 Continental tyres. A tool kit close to original, and a scissor jack comes with the car. Also fitted are bespoke front plastic inner wings finished with stone chip and orient red. These prevent wet and dirt getting high up into the wing and resting on the head lamp cone and ledges making it a lot easier to clean. And dirt guards fixed to the front chassis to stop muck settling in hidden places. All of the modifications can be removed without further work needed to the existing body or fabric. Finished in its original orient red with black leather and red piping trim it looks really splendid and is in concourse condition all ready to show. There is a British motor industry heritage certificate dated 24th Sep 1997 to accompany the car. The car comes with various used and new parts including it’s 4 speed gearbox and prop shaft. The body and chassis were finished professionally by a local body shop. My son and I did the painting of all the parts and putting it back together, but with the help and guidance of an MGA professional engineer. The chassis and box sections have been injected with wax oils. The underside paintwork is kept clean and hand polished. Receipts of parts and work done and a file of pictures showing the detail of the restoration come with the car. The MGA is kept on a 4 post lift at home so you can have a good inspection of all the underside of the car. More info/pictures can be supplied if needed. The car is for sale for £33,330.
