A great example of the classic 1950's MG Sport Roadster rebuilt with a selection of upgrades suitable for todays roads.
Originally exported to the US in 1959 and since 1976 had been stored a a barn in Indiana. Repatriated to the UK in 2014 when a 15 month ground up restoration began.
The engine is upgraded to a MGB 'Skiptune' 1860cc Stage 2 unleaded engine with lightened flywheel, fast road ported & gas filled cylinder head and Piper BP285 cam. Less than 2500 miles since rebuild.
The original 1500cc unrestored matching numbers engine is included in the sale.
Further additions include 5 speed gearbox, rebuilt carbs with K&N Filters, new radiator with Kenlowe Fan & CSI Ignition Distributor. Drilled & Grooved front Discs with EBG Green Pads, Barkeepers Servo, Anti Roll bar, Spax Dampers provide better handling and braking making this a fantastic driving car.
Interior is Matador Red Leather with Red Wool Carpets. The Hood, Tonneau and Side Screens are in matching Red Mohair. A Moto Lita steering wheel with grey lap belts continue the sporting feel.
Painted in Old English White and sitting on 60 spoke painted wires (plus spare) all have Vredestein Sprint Classic 165HR15 tyres making it look as good as it drives.
This is my MGA MK1 1956 ROADSTER restoration project, it is in London and has come from the good old USA and is a restoration project ...it has fibreglass wings which I guess are for making it lighter,.....
A lovely blue 1600cc coupe with newly upholstered light blue leather seats & 5 speed 'type 9 hi-gear' conversion. Recent back to chassis rebuild, fully undersealed with copper brake lines & used sparingly.....
