Ready to be painted W113 Mercedes Benz 280 SL Pagoda
HISTORY FILE – This extremely rare German specification ‘Pap Brief Fahrzeug’ offers documented history to confirm its 4 owners. A detailed Purchase Order from 1985 between the third and final forth owner indicates that the car exchanged hands for DM31,000 which was not an insignificant amount, even back then. The comprehensive Mercedes book pack is complete along with the cars original Fahrzeug – Daten vehicle Production Card confirming the original colours and specification. The car is now ready to be painted and essentially be put back together but, the potential new owner has the opportunity to go back to the cars original specification of white exterior with a cognac interior and black soft top, or choose your own colour combination. Mechanically, a full engine, gearbox and axle restoration rebuild has already taken place and now awaits the go ahead to be re-assembled.
EXTERIOR – Confirmed by the cars original Fahrzeug-Daten Production Card, the vehicle was white with a cognac interior and black mohair soft top. The original hard Top was also painted in white. The potential new owner now has the choice of keeping the car original or, specifying to your own wishes. The original steel hubcap wheels have, of course, also been fully restored but, as an additional bonus we are also offering a full set of original Mercedes Accessory Fuchs allows with new tyres.
INTERIOR – All chrome and wood elements have already been restored or replaced and now just await the decision of the new owner to re-upholster in the cars original colour of cognac or, literally choose any colour combination you like. Needless to say, only the finest quality materials will be used to ensure that quality expected and associated with any 280 SL Pagoda.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION – This automatic transmission model has been mechanically full restored to the highest standard. Engine, gearbox and axles have all been fully stripped with all major components either restored or replaced accordingly.
This original 1968 Mercedes Benz 280SL was imported to South Africa by Vintage Car Importers in January 2015 and has since been restored extensively. It is equipped with both hard and soft top, Right.....
