It was originally a ghastly pale pink colour favoured by Vauxhall. It, the pink, lasted 6 months before Father couldn't stand it any longer and resprayed it in its current midnight blue.
Like most cars of the period the bottom fell out a couple of years later. Father rebuilt it. Years later he started an upgrade to as close to a VX/ 490 standard as possible. The twin carb larger engine and 4 speed gear box fitted. Interior up graded as well.
In the 90's a further body refurbishment was carried out.
Ownership passed to my late brother who eventually passed it on to me when he succumbed to cancer.
He had started the last phase of the up grade by fitting vacuum brakes and the 5 stud VX490 wheels. Unfortunately he could not finish the job so I did.
The figure of 1618 is the mileage driven in the car since 2017 when I took it over.
In Oct 2018 it took part in a Top Gear (Amazon) production.
Tempus fugit and it is now time to find new home for her.
A fair amount of paperwork is available to support the history.
