The Bike is in great condition for its age and looks truly stunning in Gloss Black with Gold and Grey Ancillaries and Frame. Not only is this the last production year for this Iconic Machine but as most examples are in Red and in Yellow, it’s very rare to find a UK Bike finished in Ducati Black.
This 904cc 4v V-Twin Superbike boasts 80bhp, 59ft-lbs of Torque and a Top Speed of 140mph. It has the (Gold) Brembo Brake Calipers, Ohlins Rear Suspension, Original Owners Manual & Service Book, 2 Keys, Lots of History & Receipts, will do 0-60mph in 3. 5 Seconds and has a Tank Range of 135 Miles.
This is certainly the best of all the 900 SuperSports Models. The Fuel Injected 900 is smoother, better-fueled and far more reliable than the Carburetor SuperSport models. It's purposeful design is typically Ducati and still looks fresh & modern.
This Bike is utterly brilliant on the road. Aided by the remarkable Desmodromic Timing System (2 valves per cylinder, operated by 4 rockers, 2 opening & 2 closing), the engine has effortless go and fuel delivery - completely tractable, the steering is solid and the ride & handling is exceptional. A fine example of light weight components and brilliant engineering working well together.
This Model is sited by FutureClassics as; quote: 'A Ducati on the verge of becoming a classic and increasing in value. Our experts expect the value of this model to increase by around 214% over the next five to ten years.'
It's a great example of a superbly designed and well engineered Bike (Ducati know what they're doing!). The asking price is realistic, as this model and all air-cooled SS's, are steadily climbing in value (& over £750 just spent on it!).
A Full Service has just been carried out, the Seat has been re-trimmed (there was a small nick in it but now expertly re-covered) and it has gone through its MoT Test (with no Advisories). A new Cambelt and a new Battery has also just been fitted, for the new owners peace of mind. All wiring and electrical connections have been checked and replaced where necessary. The tinted front windscreen has also just been replaced, to complete the look.
This is a great Bike that looks and sounds amazing and is certainly the Ducati to invest in, with the best engine, in a rare and fabulous colour and with its recent work, history and appreciation potential, it's definitely worth the consideration of any serious and savvy Motorbike lover. You won't be disappointed (see Owners Reviews on MCN).
Please contact me for any further details. I can send a video of the Bike running, on request.
I can also potentially help with delivery (by Van, within 50 miles) if needed.

The 84 S2 and MHR Mk4 were virtually identical in frame and engine, and both received the much needed upgraded ...

The MHR MkI was released in 1979 to commemorate Mike Hailwood’s epic victory at the previous year’s TT. In 1980, Ducati came out with the MkII, very close to its predecessor but now with a steel tank and FPS wheels instead of the Campagnalos on the MkI. Ours is a 1982 Mk3. Cosmetically it is in quite nice condition ...
