Very nice early MGB roadster in old English white with black leather interior and black hood, Overdrive gearbox, Chrome wire wheels and Aluminium bonnet.
The car has previously been fully restored with a DVD showing the restoration.
Bodywork is very nice with no rust or corrosion only minor stone chips and touch-ups, paintwork is nice and shiny with no faded patches, not perfect but very nice and usable. Underside is very solid with no rot or hidden problems, all previous welding has been done neatly with full panels replaced not patched. Lightly stone chipped in black for protection but doesn’t hide anything – can easily be over-painted by hand unlike under seal. The car has been wax oiled in the cavities and vulnerable areas.
Boot floor and quarter floors, floor pans, sills, wings and wings seams all solid and neat.
Interior is very nice with black leather seats, black carpets in good condition, dashboard, gauges, door cards windscreen frame etc all in very good condition. Period Mountney Steering wheel. Roll over bar and wind stop fitted which works well but can easily be unbolted if wanted. The hood is in good condition with no fading, rips or milky windows.
Engine bay is tidy and painted body colour not black, could be improved over a couple of weekends painting ancillaries if you want to show the car but all solid around the pedal box and inner wing trumpets. Engine has very good oil pressure hot and cold, runs well starting first time and never overheats even in traffic on hot days with the electric fan. The car drives faultlessly – no clunks whines smoke noises or smells. Gearbox changes nicely with no slop and the overdrive works as it should on 3rd and 4th with no delay or jumping out under acceleration. Diff has no clunks or whines and no drive line shunt as with some.
Brakes all good and pull up straight
Chrome wire wheels with good tyres
Electronic ignition for better starting and reliability
Full stainless exhaust system including manifold
Chrome all very good with no pitting or rust
Lots of history and receipts for parts and work, just had new battery, rear shocks and drop links, cooling hose set and boot carpet set.
MOT and TAX exempt, car would pass a MOT with no big issues if wanted and has not failed on anything more than wiper blades showing how solid the car is underneath
I can send more pics of underside, boot, floors etc just ask
A very nice car ready to be used and enjoyed without worrying about getting a stone chip like with a concourse car trailered to shows, not perfect but can be improved while using rather than having to pull it to bits.
