1934 RUDGE 250 RADIAL SPORTS SOLD

RUDGE FOR SALE

Extremely rare Rudge 250 Radial Sports. First registered on the 3rd May 1934. One of the very few remaining ‘front frame’ mounted oil tank models. Produced in Rudge’s swansong year, when they were 1st, 2nd & 3rd in the Lightweight T. T. on 250 Radials. It still carries it’s original Swindon Registration No. along with it’s ‘buff’ Log Book. The original Crank Case was repaired but it was decided to fit a really nice used Case from a donor bike but the original Crank Case has been retained. The bike has been the subject of a complete ‘nut & bolt’ restoration over 7+ years, with bills for over £10, 000. The work has included a complete re-paint and engine & gearbox rebuild. Girder forks, brakes, saddle & bum-pad, electrics, speedometer & Amal carburettor have all been refurbished by specialists, to the highest standard. The original (and working!) Magdyno is retained but is replaced by a professionally rebuilt later magneto. It is fitted with new British Chrome Rims & Stainless Spokes & correct Avon ‘Speedmaster’ and ‘SM’ tyres. It has been ridden only 8 miles since restoration.

The 250 comes with a massive history file, with a photo record of the restoration and every bill kept. Also included are parts lists, repair manuals, handbooks and an almost complete set of Rudge Enthusiast’s Club Journals, going back over 50 years, along with some new and used spares. it is featured in the VMCC Journal for July 2020 and the VMCC 2020 Calendar for October.
Too old & busted to ride old British bikes anymore, sadly. Offers over £10k
