We are delighted to offer this fabulous, low mileage, UK supplied matching numbers Jaguar E-Type onto the market. UVK 757G has covered just 73500 miles from new and spent from 1979 to 2015 off the road. The FHC E-Type was first registered on the 9th May 1969 and was the 218th Series II RHD FHC built. This early Series II car comes with an extensive history containing MOT’s and invoices from the 1970’s. Texaco Lubrication Service sheets are present from the 1970’s along with lots of maintenance and general upkeep related paperwork. During the late 1970’s the E-Type was owned by a Military Captain based at Bovington Camp in Dorset and servicing during this period was carried out by Daimler Jaguar agents Spink (Bournemouth) Ltd. The car was taken off the road in 1979 with a genuine mileage of 71000 miles. Whilst the E-Type spent the 1980’s, 1990’s and 2000’s off the road, it was subject of a long-term rolling restoration over almost 30 years. Lots of invoices are present from the 1980’s, the most significant work was an engine rebuild to include new pistons, new oil pump, timing chain, new valves and guides.

In 2006 the E-Type changed hands going to a Racing Engineering Company in Wiltshire. Invoices from 1983 confirm some interior work was carried out and the car was also stripped down and fully re-painted, including the underside and bare space frame and bulkhead. From 2006 to 2014 the E-Type restoration progressed slowly but was not completed. The owner was eventually persuaded to sell the car to a private customer in Bristol who managed to finally complete the restoration. By 2015 the E-Type was back on the road after 26 years having being treated to new radius arm assembly and bushes, wishbone bushes, ball joint gaiters, tie rod gaiters, stainless steel braided hoses, new thermostat and gasket, new Magnetronic ignition kit, new brake servo, new rear calipers, overhauled differential, rebuilt brake master cylinder, all perishable rubbers were replaced and brand new rear bumpers fitted. The E-Type has also had many parts powder coated whilst off the car and has been treated to new cam cover gaskets, exhaust pipes, brand new wheels and tyres. Interestingly, when the brake master cylinder was being rebuilt in 2015, the name of the long terms owner was found in silver pen on the Bakelite disc, dated 1984 with the words ‘almost complete never again'. It was clearly a labour of love during the 1980's but it would seem the project didn't move on during the 1990's and early 2000's. On completion the E-Type was taken on some short test runs before being taken to 24hr Le Mans in June 2016 for its first big test which it passed with flying colours.

In 2017 we took the E-Type in part exchange and sold the car to one of our loyal, long term regular customers who fulfilled a life long dream of owning an E-Type. Since then the E-Type has covered around 1500 miles, mainly weekend touring and various shows and events. The car has had towards £10,000 of expenditure over the past three years to include detailed paintwork, differential overhaul, rear wheel bearings, new anti-roll bar bushes, drop link bushes, fuel tank sender unit seal and gasket, period radio, isolator switch, new alternator, various new ignition items and trim work to include re-foaming seat squabs and re-trimming the glove box.

UVK 757G has driven back to us in strong mechanical order and presents beautifully. This E-Type is excellent on the road, it feels lovely and tight, the engine super fit holding very good oil pressure and the four speed gearbox is first class and changes up and down smoothly with excellent syncromesh. The recently rebuilt differential is quiet, the handling excellent and the car is direct and feels right. This is an E-Type to drive and enjoy and it can be driven with confidence. UVK 757G presents very well with lovely deep paintwork. The body is excellent with straight panels, great panel gaps, superb doors, bonnet, tailgate and wheel arches. The inner wings are super clean, the underside very well presented and chrome work and chrome wire wheels gleam. The engine bay is very sharp, the bulkhead and space frame lovely and clean and the very original looking interior retains lovely leather, an excellent headlining and smart dashboard and working dials. This is not a ‘concours' car, but a very honest, low mileage and low ownership E-Type that is ideal for regular use and long distance touring as proven with its 2016 Le Mans trip and last few years of regular, general use.
