In lovely Iris blue with contrasting dark blue tonneau and trim, this great little car is not all it seems! Fitted with a fully rebuilt and extensively tuned and modified 1275 engine coupled to a Frontline Ford five speed gearbox. ‘This little frog’ can cruise without revving its heart out whilst being responsive and fun in modern traffic. Suspension upgraded shock absorber conversion on the rear and uprated front shocks this is fun!
The engine build has had….
A re bore new pistons and rings
A reground crank with all new bearings
Valve seats re cut and new valves and guides
Flywheel, crank, rods etc. lightened and balanced
A open road new cam shaft
New rocker assembly
New 1.5 inch su Carbs
Aldon electronic distributor, and SU fuel pump (electronic)
Oil cooler and spin on oil filter conversion
The car has barely done 1,000 miles since the engine was built and fitted in 2011
The body was extensively restored in the early 1990s completed about 1994 with new floor pans and all usual areas addressed. Having been painted in two pack paint there are signs of cracking in the paint as this was too tough for cars of this era that would have been painted in a more flexible cellulose. Some areas would benefit from a tidy up but not immediately essential. The car has been dry stored and dry use only since 2007.
Other benefits include….
Motalita Steering wheel
Wipac Halogen headlamp conversion
Wired in battery conditioner point
Black hood in good condition with frame and side screens
Stainless steel exhaust and sports manifold
New tyres of a larger size to give that more reassured ride.
MOT exempt and no road tax to pay!
An extensive history file with receipts of parts fitted and work undertaken
A VERY good, pretty and honest car not hiding anything! Ready to use and have fun with some cosmetic work as and when.
