When did you last see a rust-free Alfasud in the UK? Especially one which is original UK RHD (May 1978), currently MoTed and very useable? This is an exceptional example body wise and it runs and drives a treat as anyone who has driven one will know. Emits that lovely boxer rasping exhaust. 1286cc, 5-speed manual, FWD, four-door with a proper boot, not a hatchback.
It doesn’t "need" an MoT but it has had three in a row with no advisories! The current one was done a few days ago and runs to 23 July 2021 so a purchaser can be reassured on that score. The recorded mileage is 53,700, which might go up slightly. It is commensurate with the condition of the car as described below but cannot be verified other than by recent MoT records.
Piper yellow with grey, pin dot fabric seating and brown carpet (including door bottoms!). The body was restored just over ten years ago with new wings and a repaint, however, everything else in the body looks original, as well as sound, which is astonishing for an Alfa of this period.
Along with the latest MoT, the car was serviced. The engineer commented that it was incredible underneath for any car of the 70s, let alone an Alfa. So, it is all ready and raring to go.
I’d buy a useable 70s’ classic under £10k on condition and evidence of recent care and attention rather than on earlier history. This car majors on both and does have an original driver’s handbook to complement the overall original look. The only comparable cars I can find are all LHD and with asking prices of around £10k.
