This fabulous Giulia Super was 1st registered on 2nd January 1978. It started life as a Super Nuova but has since been retrofitted with the earlier aerodynamic bonnet, boot lid and stainless steel grille.
This Giulia is powered by the Nord all alloy twin overhead cam 1. 3 litre engine. This unit has been subject to an overhaul and demonstrates excellent oil pressure. When I first drove it, I was convinced it was a 1600cc engine as the power is sublime. I even stopped and looked under the bonnet to check, as I could not believe how well it drove.
The car is fitted with many Alfaholics parts. The wheels are 15-inch GTA style and fitted with excellent tyres. The brakes, steering, propshaft and suspension have also been attended to. The only fault I found on the car was the gearbox, this has recently also been overhauled at great expense and is now a delight to use.
The undersides are in excellent order and protected with wax treatment. The exterior coachwork looks fabulous in black and is complimented by a full tan leather interior, including, door cards. The woodwork is excellent, the interior being a place that, not only invites you in, but is also a place the gents would be happy to wear a dinner jacket, or ladies, a cocktail dress in.
On the road, the car feels lightweight to handle and the free revving engine demands use of the revs.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Super is a secret worth knowing and now being discovered as a better and more enjoyable experience than the Spider or GT; an opinion of course but since I first drove one in 1974 I have found that once owned, not only myself, but people I have sold this model to, find it difficult to sell. The Giulia, with five seats, large boot, twin cam engine, five-speed gearbox, servo-assisted disc brakes on all four wheels, as standard, and with great visibility and comfort, allowed the family to enjoy sports car performance whilst carrying out family duties. The first production car designed in a wind tunnel, the resulting Giulia in 1962 had the same drag coefficient as a Porsche 911, which gave the added benefit of good fuel consumption and relatively quiet cruising for the period.
There is so much to say about this Alfa Romeo but seeing it in the flesh and experiencing the drive says a thousand words so if you are looking for an Alfa Romeo please call and book a viewing, by appointment only please.
As a friend recently said, “I have owned Ferraris and Porsches, but I have never driven anything as good as this”.

The Giulia already had all the hallmarks of a GTI some 15 years before Volkswagen gave name to the concept. With an all-alloy engine with twin-overhead camshafts, powerful brakes and 5-speed gearbox, the Giulia was in reality a sports car disguised as a compact family saloon. In the 1960s it took the middle manager and ...
