Chevrolet LUV Pickup 3.1 Manual Diesel 4WD | Isuzu TF | Vauxhall Brava

Offered for sale here is an example of the very well thought of Chevrolet LUV (which is the same truck as the Isuzu TF and the Vauxhall Brava). As such this Chevy has the same legendary “4JG2-T” 3.1 litre Isuzu Turbo diesel engine that you would find in the Trooper.

Before i launch into much more of the description let me start by saying that this is a 20 year old pickup truck. It is certainly more “workhorse” than show pony so if you’re looking for a show car or a brand new truck - this isn’t it, however if you are looking for a solid, reliable, tough 4WD truck with plenty of work left in it, then read on!

I have been using this awesome truck whilst my Toyota Hilux was off the road having some welding done. It starts first time, every time, no matter how cold the weather - straight in!

The driving experience is what you would expect for a truck of this era: it’s not going to win any races but it runs smooth as silk and pulls like a train with no undue smoke or hesitation.
The 2WD / 4WD Hi / 4WD Low all work as they should (complete with automatic switching front hubs) and the 5 speed gearbox is smooth throughout the rev range with no crunches or whines to be heard.

All 4 Nexen Roadian HT tyres are in fair shape with plenty of life left in them and the truck also comes with a fitted “Duraliner” load liner.

Bodily there is pretty well either a small scratch, dent or mark on every panel. Let me repeat myself - This is a workhorse, not a show pony! With that said, it’s not the worse example i have ever seen, but just be aware that this is a long way from a concours example!

Inside, the interior is in fair shape for the year with the usual tear in the driver’s seat bolster and also some similar wear to the passenger’s seat and the rear bench. The interior is totally complete and very clean, but just showing some typical signs or wear after two decades, which i hope you will agree is fair enough!

This truck has covered just 90,000 miles (144,000 kilometres), which for the year is super low. The reason for this is that after it’s import it lived on the Isle of White, so naturally hasn’t had much chance to do mega miles! (Note: the odometer is in KMS not miles).

As you might expect with a self confessed 20 year old workhorse, there are a couple of things to note. The fuel gauge does not currently work and the screen washer is intermittent. I have no idea if this is a bad connection or otherwise but I’m sure someone out there will find it to be a simple fix.
Lastly there is no service history with the truck - i am told that this was due to the previous owner having it serviced as part of his fleet.

With all of the above taken into account i have priced this truck to sell at £2,600. Please do not contact me asking if i will take an offer. I have advertised the truck as candidly as possible and priced it to sell. Apologies for the grouchy advert, i am trying to avoid the people who want a brand new, immaculate truck for banger money!
