Rover p5 3 litre saloon mk11 auto registration cof 385c
registered 10th march 1965
here is an opportunity to own a very nice p5 saloon.
it is one of the most solid cars i have seen for many years. It has the original handbook and service book, the latter stamped up to 1977. the v5 states 4 previous owners, the second who bought the car in 1988 and the third in 2003, all in the west midlands. The car runs very well and the gearbox changes smoothly. This rover has featured in classic car mart and classic car buyer. The car was owned within the last few years by the classic car magazine editor peter simpson so with that in mind, as described in a very detailed appraisal by himself, it is an extremely good car.
the wood around the doors and dash is very good. The leather has been kept to a nice standard. There is a period radio and a toolkit with the car. Freshly made up number plates come with then car.
the purists among you will have already spotted that its got p5b front wings, complete with spotlights!!
like all classic cars there are a few bits and pieces to improve. The rear bumper could do with a rechrome but i do have new bumpers coming in so could help in the future with that. The door and boot rubbers could do with changing, again i can supply. The interior is very nice with one small tear on the drivers seat base, and a couple of pleats that need restitching. There is a small bit of corrosion at the bottom front edge of the nearside rear wing and some paint has flaked off on the sills. This is definitely not inside out structural corrosion. There are some pin prick type spots on the front wings.
so there you have it, a very nice rover p5 saloon which with the above jobs done can be brought up to a superb standard.
i can help with delivery, please ask for a quote.
Grey with red leather, manual with overdrive. Supplied by Botwoods of Ipswich in 1963. Service history with original service book indicating the 34k recorded miles as being correct. Sympathetically.....
