1979 Suzuki GS1000S Wes Cooley, exceptional original condition, Vin Number and Engine number are proper "S" model numbers and can be forwarded on request. All original S with higest quality, no expense spared exactly-to-original paint work. Please don't compare this motorycle with the many regular beater bikes of the same type one sees advertised, often for little or even not so little money. This bike advertised here is truly exceptional. That carries through to all areas underneath the bodywork as well. Rubber parts and chrome all look excellent. The gauge cluster and individual instrument bezels and indicator needles are not faded and look to be in exceptional condition. The exhaust is original and in exceptional condition. The exceptional condition is not just skin-deep but extends to all areas of the bike even under the bodywork. The original inner black plastic dash panel shows no cracks and the hidden original “S” model flip-switch still shuts off the dash mounted clock for those times when the bike is not ridden or when it is parked for longer periods. (Common battery drain problem with owners who dont know about this switch) This S has the correct seat with original vinyl seating surface heat-imprinted squares with rounded corners in excellent condition and the foam cores even in the individual squares are still puffy and not sat through as with so many high mileage bikes of this type. The bike comes with the original owners manual, toolkit, correct Suzuki air gauge in its original red plastic pouch inside its original Suzuki card board box as well as the Suzuki riding instructions and the Suzuki service plan booklet. Toolbox door is intact and barely used, often these are cracked or broken off due to the folding hinge in the plastic being worn out. The bike has the correct chrome trim with both stainless steel clips mounted on the back of the tailsection. These are next to always missing on 99% of all GS1000 bikes. Two correct and 100% original S type Mirrors in NOS condition are included with the bike, but are not mounted due to them being just too valuable nowadays. Anyway, they tend to fold flat against the fairing when ridden at speeds over 120 km/h so they do not really work well in higher-speed riding conditions. For those discerning collectors and enthusiasts alike who were going to mention the non-original fiberglass headlight fairing that is mounted in the images: Included in this sale is also the original factory S type fairing, NOS, unfaded and unused, still wrapped in a plastic bag and packed away in a card board box. See the collage picture in the images posted. It was the sample from which the entire paintjob was recreated to match everywhere perfectly. Paint was done on a cost-no-object basis by R&H Lackierei in Germany, one of the top 10 motorcycle painters anywhere, worldwide. Of course the original front master cylinder for the front brakes is als included with the bike, the more modern unit was fitted with modern brake lines to get the brake system up to par with modern tires and my riding style. Ditto for the rear Koni shocks, the origials are in a box safe and sound. This GS1000S has never been ridden in bad weather while we owned it as well as with the previous owner we were told and it shows in its overall presentation. It has always been professionally serviced above and beyond what is recommended by Suzuki and was thoroughly cleaned after every ride we took. For the past couple of years it has been prepped for long term storage in a comprehensive motorcycle collection. Of course it can be offered to a new owner with a full major service, new tires, new brake pads and all new fluids as well as a new battery of choice at cost, if so desired. This motorcycle runs as good as it looks and all components function as intended.
