1986 Porsche 944 Lux 3.0 *Deposit Taken* For Sale

** Update 27th July - Deposit Taken, provisionally sold**

Hi all, thanks for reading my advert. Whilst I don't like writing for sale ad's, apologies for the ramble

** Update 6th July, having taken the car out yesterday evening, unfortunately there is an overheating issue. I'll have a look if it's an air block, but I wanted to provide you with all info. It's being sold as a project, and open to offers, thanks ***

I'm selling my 1986 944 Porsche in Grand Prix White with Fuchs wheels. Car really does look great and reason for sale is that i'm looking to change into something that's a little bigger in the back for my kids now that they are getting older. Car has been parked indoors. Car does have an S2 engine, and running gear that was done circa 2005.

I've just had it put through an MOT (July 2020), and anything that needed doing was done... I have a receipt for £858 that includes new Starter Motor, new battery, new Porsche handbrake kit, including new handbrake shoes, and also new radiator hoses that had perished. I have the receipt for this work.

Car drives superb, and the previous owner did have this car featured on a review video on youtube.

The following work has been done on the car in the past, its not been done in my ownership, but I am happy for anyone to inspect, I can attest to the car being great to drive.

The following information is just a personal appraisal on areas of the car

Body work
Bodywork wise, for the age of the car I would say its in good condition, with a little surface rust but nothing scary. The lower front bumper did get damaged and a running repair has been done on it, but a new spare lower bumper will come with the sale if the new owner wishes to get a new one re-sprayed (existing one can be repairs too). Rest of the car has been re-sprayed previously, and looks pretty good.

Engine and gearbox
The engine has been replaced in 2005 with a 3. 0 16v s2 engine that was obtained from a Porsche specialist, the details of the car and some invoices for the car that the engine was taken out of is included.

The car pulls well with great throttle response it doesn’t burn any oil or out out any smoke. Its also had an s2 gearbox installed that is superb with no funny noises including a short shift kit. I must say it drives superb, you can tell its been setup correctly and suspension all done as it feels pretty tight. 944 is a well balanced car anyway with superb handling but it does drive well.

The cars electrics work with the exception of the front drivers side window.

The front seats have been re-trimmed so are in excellent condition, Headlining is good the dash is in good shape too with no cracks or splits. The centre armrest has some marks, and then the rear seats could do with some refurb as they seem original.

Wheels and tires
The wheels are genuine Fuchs alloys genuine with the coding on the back in very good condition. I have had offers to sell the tyres but I think it makes the car look great. Tyres still have plenty of life left in them too.

Suspension and steering
The suspension and steering on these cars is great with the b6 bilstines and the powerfelx bushes.

Bad Bits

As with all ads, I like to be open and honest about everything so please find a list below. I'm selling the car as a running project any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

- The car was Cat-C recorded circa 2005, I believe this is when the S2 engine was added. The car has had new suspension, gearbox, clutch after this time too. Car has been maintained by owners too, so no stamped service history however there are invoices for lots of work done.
- Inside the car - the Drivers side window doesn't work, and I've noticed the odometer has stopped working. I've done some basic checks, previous owner did say it did jam a couple of times but i'm keen on providing full disclosure
- front bumper has some damage. Doesn't affect the structure of the front bumper and a replacement will be included within the sale.

I'm open to offers but please no time wasters, I'm more than happy to show people around the car, but please only enquire if you are genuine about buying especially considering the current climate (COVID-19).

I'm looking for £4, 500 or near offer

Part Exchange - I might consider another convertible that is big enough to fit kids in the back, (or I am a sucker for an old merc, BMW) please email me if there is anything.
