Regrettably for sale is my 1931 Velocette GTP. I have owned it since 2017 and it is simply gorgeous.

It's a very tidy example of one of the most up market 250cc two-strokes of the early '30s.

I am parting with it as I just don't get to ride it that much.

It's been restored at some point to quite a high standard and was re-registered in 2012.

The bike has lived in my music studio until a few months ago, when it was commissioned by Steve at JAL Restorations for the summer (detailed notes available).

All rubbers replaced since these pictures.

It starts on first / second kick and sounds superb, both mechanically and on the twin exhaust note!

The dynamo is charging well, and the brakes are surprising adequate.

3-Speed gearbox & clutch are very good.

The bike comes with V5C, registration is 931 YUE, declared manufacture 1931, so just post-vintage class.

It is registered as an historic vehicle therefore road tax is free. It is also pre-60 MOT exempt.

Frame number is GP2029

Engine number is GA 3945 and these numbers match the V5C doc.

Mileage unknown (no gauges!).

Cosmetically the bike is good and pretty, but definitely not concours or as new.

The enamel on the frame is all excellent apart from a few very minor stone chips here and there.

Tank & mudguards have been stoved to a high standard, there's a tiny chip on the tank under the headstock, (there’s no contact there now). The rear mudguard has a few blemishes and marks in the paint.

The paint on the wheel hubs is a bit thin and has been adequately touched-up in places. The rims are nicely enamelled and coach lined. Spokes are painted black also and mostly look A1.

Front tyre is an excellent hardly used ribbed Avon Speedmaster, rear is Ching Cheng budget type and also hardly used.

There is no fin damage on the engine.

So, in general a pretty little light-weight example of early 30’s machinery. Great running order.
