This Overlander was sourced for us from Texas in 2007 and imported by Vintage American Caravans. Once in the UK it was completely rebuilt by them, removing and reinstalling the original interiors wherever possible. It has the original woodwork, cooker (works a dream), Dometic gas fridge (currently disconnected as needs new piping), bath with shower(!) and all windows have their original fly screens. It also has the original (Lifetime) warranty. The trailer was put onto a UK spec. A-frame and hitch and has UK legal brakes. A new water heater and pump, all new UK electrics and gas lines, TV aerial (and TV) were added.

Somewhat uniquely (and we don’t know why) when we bought it, it was totally upholstered inside with Coca-Cola fabrics. We changed all of the foam (and reupholstered to the current leather) and - after cleaning - reused as much of the fabric as possible as scatter cushions, wall linings and curtains. There is Coca-Cola signage on the outside and a branded bottle opener by the door.

The trailer sleeps 4 in great comfort in a banquette that coverts to a large double bed and twin singles over the axles. We installed a new - outside emptying - flush toilet in 2012. It needs a large vehicle to tow it (and is 26 feet long from hitch to bumper) and would look great behind a F100 or similar. We have towed it with a Discovery 4 and and Audi Q7 and both have done the job easily.

There is some damage to the (2007) laminate on the table top, the chrome on the hubcaps needs some TLC, the fridge needs a gas fitter to reinstall and connect the piping (and it hasn’t got a current certificate). We haven’t moved it in a while as have been using it for kids sleepovers and not much else. Otherwise to the best of my knowledge it is in excellent condition for its age. A professional polish is due but the aluminium remains in great condition and there are no leaks.

There are very few of these in original condition left in the world. Most have been cut into catering wagons or rotted away. Some have been redone with modern interiors. A “brand new” Airstream of a similar size retails at over US$140,000 (£110,000). I am looking for offers in the region of £70,000 and am open to Covid-secure viewings near Tunbridge Wells in Kent.
