This beautiful early MGB left the Abingdon factory on the 5th May 1965. The heritage certificate shows that it was finished in British racing green with black leather and a grey soft top. Extras included wire wheels, heater and anti roll bar. It was sold through the Moss agency in Leamington Spa.
It passed through several owners, all in the midlands area including a Vicar who owned the car until 1989 when it found its way to an MG specialist in Rugby, in need of some restoration. They sold it later the same year to its most recent owner, a gentleman from Birkenhead. The mileage at this time stood at 112,000.
A full restoration commenced and it was agreed that the original body shell was too corroded to be saved so a heritage shell was purchased through British Motor Heritage. There is a comprehensive list of parts ordered and it appears work was completed in 1992. It has since lead a sheltered life clocking up just 10,000 miles, it remains in stunning condition with bright paint, corrosion free body and superb panel fit. It really is a testament to its rebuild and care from its owner of over 30 years.
The car drives very well and is ready to be enjoyed and shown. It will come with a new MOT certificate.
