The Austin 6cwt and 8cwt Van and Pickup were only produced between 1967 and 1972.
They were Morris Minors badged as Austins as part of British Leylands badge engineering marketing scheme at the time.
This Austin 8cwt Pickup has been fully restored to an exceptional potential prize winning standard.
It was bought needing a full restoration in January 2019 by the last owner, a retired gentleman who has restored many classic cars over the years.
Over the next 18 months he stripped it back to the chassis and rebuilt it from the ground up to an excellent standard.
The history file contains invoices for parts alone of nearly £12000 purchased for this rebuild. If labour costs and the initial cost of the pickup are taken into account then the total investment in this pickup will be in excess of £25000.
It is only now for sale due to an impending house move.
The current MOT runs until May 2021 although it is MOT exempt.
The pickup will be licensed for twelve months from the date of sale for the new owner at no cost as it qualifies for the Historic Taxation class.
