The Daimler Majestic Major was a large luxury sedan produced in Coventry by Daimler from 1960 to 1968. In 1961 a limousine version on a longer chassis was introduced. It kept the 4.5L V8 engine which with its 220hp, made it a "sports car" as described by Motor Sport Magazine at the time. It could reach a top speed of 190km/h and was stable at high speeds.
The limousine version we present is all the more exceptional as it was delivered new in France and as such is one of the rare left hand drives. First registered in February 1965 it was then registered in Haut de Seine in 1976. In 1980 André Trigano acquired the car. In a nice general state of presentation it pays tribute to English refinement. The body has been repainted in an elegant black and silver grey combination. Inside everything is luxurious with the beautiful dashboard finished in original precious wood and generous equipment. The driver's cockpit is in original condition with leather that shows the usual patina. The rear cabin is finished with woodwork and chrome giving it a sumptuous atmosphere. It features two folding seats and only the seat and backrest of the rear seat have been redone. In an enviable state of conservation, this very rare LHD car deserves an overhaul to be put back on the road.
We inform buyers that all the vehicles in the collection have been little used during the last years as they are part of a museum collection. They are sold as presented and therefore require recommissioning before being driven on the public roads.
