Between 1958 and 1971, the Land Rover range consisted of two series (II and IIA), offered on the basis of two chassis: 88 inch (short) and 109 inch (long). The 4-cylinder engine was available in petrol or diesel and 6-cylinder as an option for the long chassis.
The example on offer is a series IIA and has a short chassis configuration, powered by the 2,3L petrol engine. Its bodywork corresponds to the Hardtop model with a removable hood. It was purchased new by André Trigano in September 1968 in order to drive easily around his farm. He mentioned that he had used the car during various electoral campaigns, with panels used to support the posters fixed on its sides. It has driven very sparingly and has not suffered the ravages of time. Originally finished in dark green, it was repainted in its current shade during a thorough overhaul around a decade ago. The car is in superb condition today with only 40 556km since new. This version is equipped with two folding rear seats allowing to enjoy this off-road icon with family or friends. It is certainly one of the most desirable Land Rovers on the market today.
We inform buyers that all the vehicles in the collection have been little used during the last years as they are part of a museum collection. They are sold as presented and therefore require recommissioning before being driven on the public roads.
Fantastically original 1982 Series III with safari roof has an MoT test certificate valid until Dec 2020. An opportunity to purchase a much sought after original classic and part of British motoring.....
This is certainly not your average Series III Land Rover, and will suit a Land Rover enthusiast looking for something seriously quick. The 1971 Landy has had an incredibly fit, and very quick V8 engine.....
Just arrived in with us this loverly Landrover 88 is in good usable condition. A vehicle that could be improved as a matter of course whilst being used. Viewing highly recommended more pictures available.....
