For sale by auction 13 September 2020 - Collection André Trigano by Artcurial Motorcars

French title
Chassis # 3471F
Engine # WF5696

- A rare model in France, specifically in cabriolet style
- In the collection since the 1970s
- Well preserved old restoration
- No reserve

For André Trigano, Auburn is an unfairly forgotten brand. "These cars harken back of the Hollywood glory day. Actors like Greta Garbo and Tyron Power used to drive them." The Auburns at that time benefited from the collaboration of L.-E Cord, Al Leamy and Gordon Buehrig, who helped restore the luster to the range. Thus, this model displays a modern and original line, with an aerodynamic curved grille and contoured wings, reminiscent of the famous Speedster.

The car on offer was bought in 1977 and was comprehensively restored. With its chrome horns, big headlights and spare wheels on the fenders, it has an undeniable presence. Finished in black with elegant red trim and red leather upholstery, it is in good condition. Its metal dashbord is equipped with a speedometer in km/h, which confirms that it is a model for the European market. Powered with a Lycoming 6-cylinder, this model is particularly rare in this cabriolet style, as most were sold in four-door tourer form. Here is a rare opportunity to live the American dream, in all its 1930s flamboyance.

We inform buyers that all the vehicles in the collection have been little used during the last years as they are part of a museum collection. They are sold as presented and therefore require recommissioning before being driven on the public roads.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO A TYPING MISTAKE, THE CHASSIS NUMBER ON THE TITLE IS 84711 INSTEAD OF 3471F.

Estimate: 35 000 - 55 000 €
