1967 Jaguar S-Type 3.4 Manual with Overdrive, 20K Spent For Sale

This is a car we know well having supplied it to it’s the last owner in York nine years ago back in 2011. Being local to us, we have not only maintained the car, but witnessed it winning various events and local shows over the years. Finished in Opalescent Golden Sand with its original Red leather trim, this Jaguar S Type is a first-class example that has had over £20,000 spent with its last owner, maintained and kept up too with no expense spared. Whilst the Jaguar has had a huge level of expenditure, it is a largely original car in many respects. The first record of notable expenditure was 20 years ago back in 2000 when the car had a mileage of 87414 miles. The engine was removed, stripped, and rebuilt with new big end bearings, main bearings and pistons, new timing chain tensioner, new clutch, coolant hoses, carburettor rebuild and new brake servo assembly. The Jaguar was in regular use during the 2000's and in early 2011, prior to first coming to us had over £2000 spent with a local Jaguar specialist on various detailed maintenance and improvements having covered 5500 miles since the 2000 engine rebuild. Early into ownership with our long term regular customer (2012), the S Type was booked into our Malton Coachworks Bodyshop for a full, complete re-paint in the cars correct Jaguar original colour. The body was already in excellent condition and with a full complete finish the Jaguar was ready to be entered into shows and was soon picking up awards. Other cosmetic work included having the original leather seats re-foamed, retaining as much as originality as possible. Over the nine years MAO 703E has been maintained with no expense spared, being treated to a new power steering system, new rocker cover gaskets and seals, rebuilt carburettors, overhauled differential, new wheel bearings, rebuilt brake calipers, rear brake discs, brake pads, handbrake pads, trailing arms, new radius arm nuts and bolts and with the rear subframe removed, it was sandblasted and powder coated. The car has been annually serviced, all ignition items replaced and the thermostat, water pump, coolant hoses and brake servo all replaced over the years. MAO 703E comes back to us in stunning condition, still retaining its first class paint finish and excellent panel gaps. The doors fit perfectly, door bottoms are exceptional, and panels are lovely, clean and straight. The chrome work gleams, chrome wire wheels have been regularly polished and look excellent and the interior has that wonderful blend of originality with its Red leather still retained, with excellent replaced carpets and headlining. The bonnet can be lifted at shows and reveals and engine bay to be proud of. With only 11000 miles since the engine rebuild, and 98500 miles from new, the 3.4 unit performs perfectly holding excellent oil pressure and offering impressive performance. The all syncro gearbox is lovely and smooth, as is the overdrive and with a rebuilt rear subframe, relatively new power steering and superbly maintained brakes, the car is an absolute gem on the road, quite simply first class. This is a gorgeous car, it has stunning appearance and the driving experience is equally as impressive.
