1969 SE5 for sale, was my daily car until last November but not had any significant use since then, I drive it round the block once a week to keep things moving but probably qualifies more as a rolling project now.
Last MOT was in April 2018. Chassis and suspension generally OK, although there is a knock from the rear that I haven't been able to identify. Paintwork reasonable save for some cracks at the front, the vinyl roof was looking tatty so I started to remove it, this will need replacing or painting. Interior needs carpet and some fittings. Doors need attention where the restrainer arm has pulled through the fibreglass. Would probably benefit from new window seals as there is evidence of water getting in. When I bought the car in 2013 it had been off the road for some years so was sent to a Scimitar specialist for recommissioning, this involved the following:
rear diagonals x 2
front outriggers x 2
se5 engine mounts x 2
trunnions x 2
trunnion bush kits x 2
track rod ends x 2
top ball joints x 2
front suspension poly bush kit x 8
girling brake disc
braided brake hoses
steering rack gaitors x 2
caliper, pistons & seals x 2
rear wheel cylinder x 2
brake light switch
spax adjustable rear shocks x 2
steel timing wheel
Since then the only major works have been a new clutch kit in May 2015 and points replaced with electronic ignition in November 2016
Gearbox is manual with overdrive all working, engine runs OK when cold but recently developed a misfire when warmed up.
