Information about the Mercedes Ponton Convertible 220S:
1. Sheet metal work:
- the car body was in good condition, small amendments were made to the floor
2. Car body:
- sandblasting, painting, maintenance and soundproofing with a special bitumen mat
3. The car's electrical system is complete
4. Braking system:
- servo renovated in Poznan
- new brake hoses (steel), cylinders, linings,
aluminum drum jaws - front and back made of cast iron as in the original
5. Fuel system:
- new copper tubes fitted
6.Front suspension after renovation:
- new steering points, new bearings, symmetries, bushings, new tie rod ends
- steering column: new seals and bearings
7. Rear axle (differential):
- new bearings all, new sealants
8. Transmission:
- after renovation, all clearances were removed, bearings and sealants were replaced
- the propeller shaft was balanced in a specialized plant and the crosses were replaced
9. Engine:
- a major overhaul was done by a qualified mechanical plant: planned head, valves replaced, new guides were installed, the crankshaft was first cut, new bearings were added, new sleeves and rings were inserted in the connecting rods, a new timing chain plus gears and a new tensioner, new fuel pump, two fire extinguishers have been renovated and adjusted by a good company (Puszczykowo near Pozna?), new electronic ignition apparatus
10. Upholstery:
- new upholstery made of natural leather was made
- new headlining + new roof
- The cockpit tree has been restored, the chrome clocks have been restored and all details and elements have been newly chromed in Krakow (TTC company)
11. New tires with white stripe
12. A new exhaust system with no rust made to order in Krakow
13. Car repair completed in October 2019, 600 kms
