1975 Alfa Romeo Alfetta GT Series one. For Sale
1975 Alfetta GT. This is a series 1 Alfa Romeo GT coupe one of two or three RHD UK examples in existance. The car is a Historic Vehicle, which means zero rated road TAX, and there is no MOT requirement, although it does have a current MOT. The car has 36,000 miles, which I believe to be correct, and I have MOT certificates to support this. The registration is KUL265P, Serial AR116110001381, produced 15 May 1975, sold 26 May 1975. Carrozzeria =========== Originally the car was Blue Pervinca metallic AR357, but has been painted a shade of blue close to LeMans Blue. The front inner arches have been repaired, and although are not the prettiest are solid. The sills must have been replaced at some point as they look like new, as are the jacking points, infact I cannot find a sinlge rust hole on the car anywhere, perhaps a testament to the thick sticky black goo that is sprayed onto every internal metal surface. The car has its original solid stainless steel bumpers, which do not have those ugly rubber overriders on. The interior retains the original moulded polyurethane door cards, the rear ones of which have normal sized window winders, these changed in the 1976 model year. I have had the drivers seat reupholstered, and it is much more comfortable now. Also the gear lever mechanism has been refreshed and new custom made gear gaiter installed with the correct grommet. It has retractable inertia reel seatbelts installed - these did not come as standard in 1975! I recently replaced the door seals, and now the drivers door is a little difficult to close, but this should be an easy fix. Meccanica ========= The car comes with its original steel wheels, with stainless wheel nuts, and wonderful stainless hub trims. The tyres are MOT road worthy. The brake calipers have been rebuilt recently and all function correctly. I have installed a set of the original OEM inverted Spica dampers, which were tuned by Alfa for this car. There is an MOT advisory last year about tie rod ends, so that is on the to-do list. The engine has a new old stock set of shiney dellorto carburettors added, and has the prefered high power cam shafts installed, a 123 Distributor and has had the speedometer upgraded to be electronic rather than cable driven. I am only selling this wonderful car as I have had a change of heart about modifying this car to be a GTV6 to remind me of my first car. Instead I plan to sell this car and buy a GTV6 project instead. It is a used car, so there are a few scratches here and there, and the paint isn't perfect, it is an Alfa and will require some TLC to keep it happy going forward. I think the asking price reflects this. A similar car, a Silver 1975 Alfetta GT KUU526P sold in 2016 for £10670, so this really is a good deal.
