1950 Vincent Comet -just stunning For Sale

1950 Vincent Comet complete with Black Shadow piston Just two owners from new and in lovely unrestored, original condition -a super running bike, benefitting from the fitment of a Black Shadow piston. Factory records show that this Comet was road tested on the 18th and 19th December 1950 and then dispatched in the new year to a D. Maltby of Basingstoke, with the bike being first registered on the 19th January 1951. He owned the bike until 1977, when it was sold to a Classic Motorcycle Museum in Ogano, near Tokyo, Japan’s largest Classic Bike Museum, and was on display until 2009 when it closed. It was then repatriated as part of a consignment of bikes that were sold at auction by H & H and was purchased by its second owner; my friends father. Now 84 years of age, he has decided to hang up his riding boots as he finds starting it a bit too much for him and has asked me to sell the motorcycle on his behalf. It is offered in unrestored, excellent original condition and is a fully matching numbers machine. The bike has been subject to plenty of work in the hands of the second owner and he has looked after the bike impeccably during his ownership. The bike comes with the V5, a folder full of receipts from when he purchased the bike, lots of invoices including work for the magneto being fully refurbished, new front alloy rim and stainless spokes and lots of general maintenance receipts for parts from the VOC Spares company. Also included are copies of the factory road test reports, works order form, factory completion report, and despatch check sheet and a full list of every penny spent and every maintenance job carried out under the present owners stewardship of this Vincent, which has totalled over £3,000 in the last 5 years on maintaining the bike and bringing it up to spec. A rare opportunity to purchase a lovely Vincent Comet with an interesting history and offering superb value at £21,500 A video of her running can be shared -just message me and I will send you a link. I can send high -res images of the bike to you via We Transfer if required -please just message me. Viewing most welcome (social distancing to be strictly adhered to) near Henley-on-Thames: RG9 5NB and I can help with courier/ or delivery if required, again observing strict social distancing practices.
