The 140 model was similar in appearance to the 120 though the cockpit was slightly bigger whilst the main improvement was the rack and pinion that replaced the old steering box. Visually they are instantly recognisable from the earlier car by their full width and larger bumpers. They retained the iconic XK twin overhead cam engine though with increased the horsepower.
This late model XK 140 open two seater was delivered new via Jaguar Cars New York. It returned to the UK about three years ago and has been restored from the chassis up. Finished in opalescent light blue with blue/grey leather and chrome wire wheels. Also fitted with aluminium radiator and hi-torque starter motor. This is a fast and elegant touring car of the late fifties as much at home in Monte Carlo or Goodwood.
