For sale is a great example and stylish looking MG that has been sympathetically restored. In the last three years the car has had a fully refurbished engine fitted with a lightened and refaced fly wheel for extra performance, new radiator, oil cooler, clutch plate, alternator, water pump and stainless steel exhaust. The carbs have been rebuilt and the cars performance is the best it can be.
The old silver wire wheels have been replaced with new 15” chrome wires with new Avon sports tyres. The black tulip paintwork was resprayed 3 years ago along with a new bonnet, some rust is now starting to appear. The interior has been fully refurbished with new cream carpets throughout, reupholstered ochre coloured seats and motalita steering wheel with chrome horn. The car has the original headliner, gauges and dash cover still in good condition. The old 1968 grille and rear lights make this look far more classic and sleeker for its age along with the removal of the overiders making it look like a baby E type or Aston.
All chrome work is present and gleaming, all door, boot and engine seals are in a good condition and the car does not leak. There is an extensive history with the car detailing all the work undertaken from previous owners. The mileage is currently 55.000 genuine miles with history to prove it. The car has only been driven for 27,000 miles in the last 20 years. The 5 character registration is also available with the car.
The car starts first and every time with electronic ignition and a new battery and would make an excellent daily driver. The rear suspension leaves have been replaced along with the front suspension arms giving this car a great comfortable ride and better cornering. The brakes have been overhauled and new clutch cylinders have also been installed. It was last serviced 18 months ago before being placed into storage and now due to a recent purchase of another classic it has to sadly go.
Some work is required on the sills and jacking points to remove rust along with other surface rust. This is reflected in the price. I have purchased the repair parts to be welded but have not got round to completing it.
The new owner will get a great looking head turner that is a reliable, fun and sporty motor.
