1955 AUSTIN A30 - 1098cc, SO PRETTY, SOLID. 1st OWNER 42 YRS For Sale

HERE is a real cracker of a pocket rocket. A 1955 Austin A30 whose original 803cc engine has been ditched in favour of the world famous Morris/Austin 1098cc. So, as you may expect, she certainly motors. Even the A35 which succeeded the A30 only came equipped with a 948cc. This old girl sure is one bundle of fun to drive! Registered in January of 1955 (when I was just two-months-old) she remained with her original owner for a mammoth 42 years. Owner number two kept her for 11 years and then I acquired her recently from owner number three. She really is a pretty little thing and absolutely incredibly solid underneath. Her sills are superb too. Her two front wings are GRP however, had it not been for a couple of scratches, I don't think I would have known. Interior-wise, she is really nice too and the seats look to be original even though the passenger's seat base looks to be slightly more faded. Her engine bay is in great order. So amazingly clean! All in all, a real fun little 50s classic which gives you bags of oomph on the road compared to the performance you would have got from her original 803cc. Yes, I know, there will be those of you out there saying that the original engine should never have been removed. But it has been and classic cars' engines are upgraded all the time, almost as a matter of course. One man's meat is another man's poison and so, if it is not for you, then you won't be contacting me. I am not here to try and sell it to you as a suited and booted salesman in a glass fronted showroom. I am a classic enthusiast who only buys classics that appeal to me. It's not a new car. Indeed it is 65-years-old - I know the feeling - and so don't expect the same condition as your two-year-old BMW. Personally, I think she is greatly improved thanks to the Morris Minor's 1098cc unit. Let's face the fact that the A30's original 803 couldn't pull a sailor off your sister. Or, to be more PC in keeping with today's world, the skin off a rice pudding. Anyway there we have it. There's some chrome peeling on the rear bumper and a little missing around the top of the grille. No big deal. And, no, I would not want to drive her to the South coast. Not if I wanted my knees to still belong to the rest of my body when I got there and so please don't ask me the question. I mean, why would anyone want to? So, thanks for reading and remember that I can also assist with delivery and so please ask for a quote. For delivery that is, not from Shakespeare. Thanks again, Martin (07595-020282).
