1980 1979 T2 VW Campervan- 2l engine, tax exempt For Sale
With huge sadness it is time to send our campervan, Dave, to a new home as we have a baby on the way. This 1979 VW T2 is now Tax and MOT exempt, drives like a dream and is fully kitted and ready to drive for a summer of socially distanced camping in style! Sleeps two and seats four, it would be perfect for a couple or a family if you added a tent/ front seat bunk. Also potentially willing to sell as a project without engine or swapping in a 1.6l engine depending on offers. The Mechanics... - 2.0 litre type 4 engine- a lot of work done in recent years. Drives better than any camper you've looked at so far... - Gearbox reconditioned and new clutch this summer so shifts perfectly (over £1000 spent) - Professionally lowered - Stainless Steel bumpers (back & front) - Stainless Steel Python Exhaust System - Chrome Custom Wheels - Newly installed Sony stereo with usb, bluetooth, digital radio + 4 powerful pioneer speakers - Added Rev Counter, Oil Temp gauge, and analogue clock on dash - Full remote Cobra Alarm System with Immobiliser - Flamethrower Electronic Ignition System - Zig Power Management System The insides.... - 1979 VW T2 Camper with Devon style concertina pop-top - 240v Hook-up - Domestic 3-way Fridge- runs on 240v, 12v and Gas - Gas Twin Hob with Grill - Propex Auxilliary Heater with mounted controller and sensor - Low Voltage LED throughout - Large capacity leisure battery with charging relay - 3/4 width Double rock&roll bed - 3 point seat belts in front seats, 2 x lap belts in the back seats - Swivel Passenger seat up front- a great feature for when you are parked up - Fiamma F35i Awning - Safety lined gas bottle compartment with easy access - Lots of cupboard space + Wardrobe - Stowable matching table and stand- great for dinners inside if it rains - Under seat & overhead storage - Above engine access hatch at rear (makes life a lot easier) - Custom quality made cabinetry throughout- real wood, not mdf - The lining in the drivers cab has some holes where we over enthusiastically tried to transport a fence post- easy to replace and only a cosmetic issue. The body work... - The underneath and chassis are solid - Some bubbling and rust in patches- will need some bodywork and a new paint job eventually but has a solid framework and can be used happily for a couple of years as it is. Have tried to show the rust areas in the photos- mainly along the roof trim and the door bottoms. This van turned 40 last year and has been well loved and cared for. We have owned it since 2012 and have used it and MOT'd it every year, spending thousands on refurbishing the gear box, engine and tune ups so it runs like a dream. Current MOT expires in October but is exempt technically. This van has cosmetic issues and is no show van, however is ready to go and some of the parts alone are worth £1000's. This van has the potential to be amazing but we've got a baby coming in the Autumn and need to say goodbye. V5 present. No shenanigans. Message with questions or for more details.
