Exceptionally Rare & Meticulously Restored Nova - The Famous Nova Mk4 Shell No. 15 This is an incredible opportunity to own an extraordinary and exceptionally rare icon of the 1970’s; the Nova. This example is extraordinary in that it is generally thought to be the last car to ever leave Nova’s production line (MK4 number 15) (some mixed reports); she has been comprehensively and meticulously restored to a show standard with no expense spared with new high specification mechanics and is now likely the best example in existence. Such restoration is fully documented online and within an extensive folder and she has completed but 238 miles since. This is a fully road legal, mot’d and tax exempt example registered in 1972 (built 1996) with lowered floors and a heightened roof. That roof is the iconic batmobile style electric hardtop roof that lifts off to allow the passenger to enter/exit the cockpit. I will expand upon each of these points in turn and include links to videos, extra photographs and a blog documenting her rebuild before identifying all of the minor imperfections. 1. The Nova Who needs doors when you can have an electric batmobile style roof that lifts off to allow the passenger to enter? Whilst the Nova was one of the most extraordinary, futuristic and iconic British vehicles of the nineteen seventies, today they are one of the rarest. 2. The History After The Who's Drummer crashed his Lamborghini Miura it was delivered to a race house where it inspired the Nova’s designer. The Nova's design was famously influenced by the Lamborghini, Ferrari Dino and GT40 supercars and featured in many films including the Death Race 2000 and The Cannonball Run. 3. Exceptionally Rare With only a handful of road legal examples remaining within the UK, she is exceptionally rare. 4. Generally Stated to be the Last Nova to Leave the Production Line (Number 15). All of the history sites that I have read suggest that this is the last NOVA car to ever leave the production line (on record); the famed MK4 Number 15 (produced in 1994). The Sterling Kit Cars site confirms this at Paragraph 18 on the following link http://www.sterlingkitcars.com/history_pages/nova/history_module_nv.html.. However, this follows the official record and apparenty the owner of Nova at the time Sam Colbey would later produce another shell for himself, however I can't find anything about this online so I can't verify this (but good to mention). 5. Comprehensively Restored Throughout Five Years Having been comprehensively restored throughout five years to a meticulous show standard with no expense spared; expect extraordinary quality. When we say meticiculously; she has been built to the highest standard. If you would like to see a walk-around video then do use the following link https://youtu.be/5MB4T37S0w8 to a Youtube video or this link https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1WjnFNnaOtrzNn3Pj7BAYYdek4CPkZq7q?usp=sharing to view a folder of extra photographs. 6. Documented Restoration Being documented within a blog spanning over 100 pages and four years, her restoration is fascinating to follow and can be viewed by following this link http://www.euro-nova.co.uk/vb/showthread.php?6285-Marks-Silver-machine&highlight=silver+machine to the Euro Nova forum. 7. 238 Genuine Miles Covering just 238 genuine miles since her restoration, she is unspoilt. 8. Fully Road Legal Being fully road legal, she is ready to drive away. 9. Correctly Registered Being correctly registered on the logbook as a Nova Sport, not as a Beetle like the vast majority of Nova’s, there are no possible legal issues. 10. Registered on a Historic Plate Proudly displaying her historic number plates (TTP 597K), she is not on the usual dreaded Q plate. 11. Incredible Driving Experience Being incredible to drive; she accelerates powerfully, handles precisely and stops effectively with her braking, suspension and cooling systems being rebuilt just 238 miles ago. A. The Preference Alfa Romeo 16v 1700cc Engine Being fitted with the NOVA enthusiast preference Alfa Romeo 16v 1700cc engine (top end rebuilt), she has some sporting potential, opposed to the usual NOVA beetle engines. B. Upgraded Disc Brakes Benefitting from upgraded disc brakes all round (EMPI rear) and uprated Citroen calipers, she stops effectively. C. Red 9 Suspension & Coilovers Being fitted with a Red 9 suspension and EZ coilovers all around, she handles precisely. E. Water Cooled Utilising two mini alloy radiators mounted underneath her headlights she maintains good temperature even within traffic, opposed to being air cooled. F. Brand New Tyres Having brand new Cooper Radial GT Tyres all around, she sticks to the road. G. Incredible Exhaust Note Having a refined straight through custom twin pipe exhaust she roars akin to a super car. You have to hear her to fully appreciate the immense nature of the sound she emanates, even on low revs. We have prepared a video of her sound for you which can be viewed by clicking the following link https://youtu.be/BZXrl9IjGxA, however a video simply cannot capture the awesomeness of her sound. Accordingly, expect a vehicle that drives beautifully and has been meticulously designed to a high specification. 12. Completely Refinished Interior Being completely re-finished inside, she has brand new leather Nova seats, Luke harnesses and an Alcantra dash finalised with expensive technology including a Raptor quick release steering wheel with wireless controls, compupedals, reverse camera and start up button. Alternatively, if you would like to see a video of her roof lifting up to allow the passenger to enter then please use this link https://youtu.be/M5-NF9Z7JuY to a Youtube video. 13. Lowered Floors & Heightened Roof The biggest criticism of the Nova was that she was quite small inside. This example has lowered floors and a heightened roof allowing a more comfortable driving experience and myself at 6ft can drive her. 14. 12 Months MOT Whilst she may have covered few miles since being restored, she has faithfully been MOT’d and comes with 12 months MOT. Arguably, she could be MOT exempt, however there exists a grey area with kit cars and we would recommend that she should be MOT’d. 15. Tax Exempt (Historic Vehicle) Being registered in 1972 (the donor chassis), she is tax exempt. Accordingly, this is your opportunity to one of the rarest and most iconic British classic vehicles, an example with great provenance and an example comprehensively restored to a meticulous show standard, fully documented and ready to drive away. Age Related Imperfections This is likely the best example of a Nova in existence and she has been meticulously restored to a show standard, however she does have some fisheyes within her paintwork. Genuine Reason for Sale The current owner (we are trade) purchased her five years ago from his wife’s boss. He has since fully restored her. He has only sold her due to an impending house move.
